AOL album streams October 30, 2006

Filed under: breaking news — bolger @ 7:48 pm

as evident from previous discussions, a number of you are alleged music fans.

with that in mind, the good people at AOL have decided to share a number of yet-to-be-released discs from a number of prominent artists, including the deftones, meat loaf, lady sovereign, and the Borat soundtrack.

unfortunately, none of these releases can hold a candle to this.

enjoy.

Fugaze P.S.A. - Kill Bill’s Browser!

Filed under: breaking news — pat fugaze @ 11:49 am

I realize most people still use Internet Explorer as their default web browser. I also realize that fugaze.com doesn’t display that well on IE - this is because of Microsoft’s failure to support CSS (nerd lingo, don’t worry about it). The latest release of of this program, IE 7, addresses the problem slightly but not up to most nerd’s standards. Regardless of this though, IE 7 is the biggest piece of shit you will ever come across and I feel so passionately about this that I have installed a permanent banner on the right column of fugaze.com to help KILL BILL’S BROWSER! Click the image and it will take you to a site that will easily win you over on the benefits of Firefox. If you’re a mac user, Safari is still a good option but I’ve found that Firefox is still the most compatible browser across most web sites.

So why does IE 7 suck so much?… (more…)

Gamerbowl ‘07

Filed under: breaking news, gamer bowl — pat fugaze @ 1:41 am

The following is a paid message from Gamerbowl Commissioner, Jamie “the Gamer” Burdon. To maintain integrity, this message has not been edited so it includes all original spelling and/or grammatical errors.

I know what you are thinking; you are thinking why this email is so late this year? It is likely you’ve been sitting on the edge of your computer chair for the past month worried that you would not receive the Gamerbowl 9 email invitation, rest easy, if you are receiving this email you are one of a selected, carefully handpicked group or well oiled, well conditioned ahhhh who are we kidding we are aging, out of are prime, shells of what we use to be, men living in the past. With that said if you are excited as excited to be reading this email as I am to be sending it you truly understand the spirit of the Gamerbowl.

Because most of the people receiving this email have played in the Gamerbowl previously I don’t feel the need to explain the importance of the game, and the competitiveness that comes along with the game. I would like to remind everyone that as we get older and we gain more responsibilities we quickly prioritize what is important to us. Every Super bowl we are lucky we get to put to the head of our priorities our friends. Maybe we don’t see each other every week, or even every month….hell maybe some of us only see each other this one time of the year, but when we do see each other I want you to realize that friends from home can give us something University, or work friends can never give us. High school and hometown friends understand how important Kelly’s was, or how the Chili Pepper is called The Pepper not Chili’s or what Gamerbowl means to us. It truly is a time to get together and remind ourselves that we were lucky enough to have a big close group of friends.

Now to the important stuff: As always we have a few rules!

ticketmaster must die! October 28, 2006

Filed under: breaking news, pat's pissed — pat fugaze @ 10:30 am

So here I am, it’s saturday morning. I was at a wedding last night so I’m pretty hung over. Nevertheless, I still woke up early this morning to try and score some tickets to the Noel Gallagher acoustic show that is taking place at the Danforth Music Hall on November 7th. The show is going to be unbelievable - Noel and GEM of Oasis will be playing an acoustic set, in support of their new greatest hits album, Stop the Clocks. Preceeding the show is an exclusive viewing of the band’s brand new documentarty, “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down”. Clearly, this show was meant for Oasis fanatics, such as myself.

9:59 am: I’m setup on the ticketmaster page, just waiting for the clock to turn 10:00 so I can hit refresh.

10:00 am: I hit refresh, place an order for two tickets, type in the word for that captcha security, and 2 tickets are presented to me. Row FF - 6th row! Fucking eh! Things are looking great.

10:00:40 am: I then type in my ticketmaster login, confirm my address, choose which method I’d like to recieve my tickets, and finalize the order.

10:01 am: “Error. We’re sorry, we’re unable to process your request. Please contact customer service.”

10:01:01 am: My heart rate is in overdrive. I’m smashing my mouse and keyboard. I’m dropping every expletive I know (I even invent a few new ones). This exact same thing happened to me for radiohead tickets a few months ago, but that time I was able to hit the back button and the tickets reappeared. This time I had no such luck. I GOT FUCKED.

10:01:02 am: I try everything possible to make those tickets appear again. I’m hitting the back button, checking my order history, looking for new seats. Call customer service - busy. Nothing. I GOT FUCKED.

The moral of the story is that Ticketmaster is a bunch of cocks, and their website is an even bigger piece of fucking shit.

FUCK. COCK. BALLS.

Did I mention that ticketmaster is weak??

hey fergie - you’re weak!

This is the kind of garbage that pisses me off. It’s shit, it has no substance whatsoever, AND the entire song she is singing about how hot she is! FUCK YOU!

I can see why people think you’re hot, if you’re into that transsexual look. Personally, I prefer woman that don’t have cocks or piss their pants on stage. That’s just me though.

By the way, this song is called “Fergalicious”. Prepare to get angry.

Happy Belated Birthday iPod

Filed under: breaking news — pat fugaze @ 11:25 am

I know I’m a few days late, but I think it’s worth noting that the iPod turned 5 this week. Whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that this simple gadget has become a cultural phenomenon in it’s 5 short years. Try walking down any busy street and see how far you go without seeing white ear buds.

These little fuckers have brought me endless hours of joy and convienience, and for that I am grateful. But here’s a good article on the pros and cons of the iPod that’s definitely worth a read. link

NFL Coming to Canada!

Filed under: breaking news — pat fugaze @ 11:16 am

Today, NFL owners approved plans for two NFL regular-season games to be played each year outside the United States starting in 2007, with possible sites limited at first to Mexico, Canada, England and Germany.

The plan would be set up so that all teams would rotate over a 16-year period, with each team playing outside the country twice over that span, once as a visitor, the other as a home team. That means a team would lose one game team during that span. What’s cool about this is that they won’t just be sending the Bills to play a game in Toronto because they’re the closest. We’ll actually have the opportunity to see some GOOD teams playing in some competitive games. And since it’s a 16 year rotation, the Cowboys may actually be good again by the time I get a chance to see them play….I won’t get my hopes up though.
